AAT dome and water tower from the old Lodge

Date created: 1975-12-04

The distinctive 'rustless' pressurised golf-ball water tower is one of the more peculiar structures at Siding Spring. However it is necessary to supply water to the facilities in the AAT and around the mountain. Despite appearances, it is indeed rustless, built of a special kind of steel that develops a protective coat to prevent further corrosion. December 1975.
